Summary
Everything is fleeting. We live to die, we meet people to leave them, or we have possessions to lose them.
This phrase was a leitmotif for Xiao Rex Lapis, who had come to believe it more than anything else in the world. In a world where everything seemed doomed to loss, Xiao had found refuge in the thought that detaching himself was the only answer to an existence marked by suffering. This mantra had guided him through his encounters, his possessions, and his hopes, until the fragile balance he had sought to maintain wavered.
The young boy promised himself that this year would be his last, that he would try to think of the eternity of encounters and possessions. But when everything is fleeting, how could he find a reason to stay?
Yet, perhaps it was this same ephemeris that had allowed him to meet Aether Viator.
