    “You sick motherfucker,” Dabi sneers, taking a step closer to Hawks, who goes completely rigid once more, eyes trained on Dabi’s exposed flesh. The blood’s already started to coagulate…but that doesn’t matter. Hawks still wants to lick the wound clean.

    “Awww, what’s wrong, birdie? Commission says you can’t have a little taste?” He teases, waving his arm closer, and Hawks feels like he’s going to explode.

    Hawks' approach is languid, his expression is easy and open. Even knowing it's fake, Dabi can't see the cracks in the façade. Horrifying, really.

    "Hey," Hawks greets as he enters the shadow of the alley. He then proceeds to crash against the brick wall at a glacial pace, face smooshed up against the brick and his shoulders and torso slumping to follow.

    In half surprise, half genuine glee, Dabi cackles. Hawks' arm twitches at his side like maybe he'd flip Dabi off if he had the strength.

    Dabi's still chuckling when he asks, "How ya feelin', hero?"

    "Like shit," Hawks grumbles into the wall.

    "You look it," Dabi assures him, grinning and pulling out his phone. He came all this way; Hawks can afford to wait a minute while Dabi gets a few pictures.

    Trying to get a ride home from a party, Hawks misdials and gets Dabi. Dabi, thinking it'll be fun to see his "favorite hero" drunk out of his mind, agrees to help Hawks get home.

    Things get a lot less fun when Dabi realizes Hawks isn't drunk.

    Touya Himura (previously Todoroki) had thrown out his aspiration of becoming a hero, along with the remnants of a truly atrocious relationship with his father, years ago. He now worked as a raptor specialist at one of Tokyo's bird rescues, as well as an on-call de-escalator for animal heteromorphs affected by quirk amplifiers.
    When he gets one such call on behalf of none other than No. 2 Hero Hawks, he turns up to a job that's easier than he expected in some ways, and much more difficult in others: the birdbrain seems to have decided that he wants to spend all his time glued to Touya's side, which means that Touya is on bird-sitting duty for the next couple of days until the quirk wears off.
