   Summary

   “See you in October. Enjoy boring summer,” Rozanov said as he slipped through the open doors.
   “Boring?” Shane said, a hint of amusement in his voice. “What makes you think it’s boring?”
   Rozanov turned; his eyes slowly traveled down Shane’s body, before making their way back up. “Is Canada. Canada is boring.”
   “You’re such an asshole,” Shane said as the doors closed, earning a smirk in return.
   He couldn’t stop smiling. Shane had made friends with Ilya Rozanov.

   What if Shane and Ilya had become friends first instead of jumping straight into hooking up?

   A slow burn fic exploring how their lives might have been a little different had they not had to hide every single thing about themselves from the age of 17. Mix between show, book, and my own timeline. About 85% canon. Maybe Shane isn't so uptight and maybe Ilya lets himself be a little bit freer. Friendship is magic like that.
