“Eddie,” Steve says softly, the warmth of his breath tickling across Eddie’s face from their close proximity. “Tell me if I’m reading this wrong.”
“What do you mean?” he can’t help but ask, body thrumming with both nerves and tentative excitement. Hope is a dangerous drug, rushing through his veins and tunneling his vision until all that matters is the man before him.
Chuckling quietly, Steve shakes his head again disbelieving, a shy grin spreading across his face as he looks at Eddie. “Come on, man. You know what I mean.”
Biting his lip, Eddie blinks owlishly up at Steve, gaze darting around his face as he reluctantly admits, “No, I really don’t. Spell it out for me?”
