Summary
No one in the small Ferelden village of Lothering had batted an eye when the new family settled a farmstead at the edge of town. He may not be young anymore, and though he’d been lucky enough to marry a minor noble from far-away Kirkwall, all that had gained him was a wife with no skills at farming and an infant to provide for. And if the neighbors snickered to themselves about the not-terribly-attractive man with his much younger wife, well, it was an old enough story that their amusement quickly passed. And when, a few years later, a set of twins arrived to keep their parents busy and perpetually harassed, the neighbors had accepted the family sufficiently to bring by meals and willing hands to help with the older girl while her parents adjusted.
