Not a denial, Greg noted. ‘The only reason I can think for you to come here is to see if it’s true,’ Greg said. He raised his eyebrows. ‘And why would you care if it’s true? The only reason I can think is that you fancy me too and you want to see if your brother is telling the truth or not.’
‘Is he?’

Greg Lestrade is done. He’s done with London town. The rain. The tube. The prices. The tourists. The endless and relentless bouts of new and old crime, and the powers that be that pretend to govern and are unable or unwilling to actually help.
At 60, he should have it all together, right? He shouldn’t be standing under a shabby awning in the pouring rain in some godforsaken alley in a seedy part of east London hoping he wouldn’t be stabbed to death before the patrol car that he’s radioed for gets there.
Good thing Mycroft always comes to rescue him.
