My take on 8.01:
Lucy and Tim go home together...
“You’re ready to go home?”
Home.
His home for now, but their home soon.
He didn’t expect it, or maybe hadn’t allowed himself to imagine that she’d react this way: agreeing to move in right away, happy and excited to move in right away instead of asking for time. And Tim would have given her all the time in the world. Weeks, months; he’d have waited patiently, because he knew that eventually the moment would come.
This is an unexpected gift, and it doesn’t feel like his mind has completely caught up yet. Then again, maybe that’s not that surprising, considering how much has happened in the last twenty-four hours: car chases, stakeouts, getting shot at.Bookmarked by KingTimothy

“Isn’t your back hurting?” he asked.
“I, uh…” Lucy looked like she didn’t know what to say, confused, because really, she had just sucked his fingers, they were that close, and that’s what he’d managed to ask her—if her back was hurting?
Was he an idiot or a moron? Something in between, certainly.
His smirk only grew as her fingers froze on his shirt, and right when she was about to remove them entirely, his hands reached up her legs to grab the high of her thighs—a fistful with fingers so large that he held half of her ass. Lucy was caught off guard, once again, and her shoulders trembled while he used the hold to bring her even closer, her knees going up to fit her hip against his, one of his hands surrounding her to hold her waist.
Their faces were so close she was salivating, and she was sure he was too, so why the hell did they just stare at each other, impossibly close, their cores inches away, their eyes falling to each other’s mouths before returning to their eyes—why wouldn’t Tim Bradford just fucking kiss her?

Summary
Instead of packing her things away and leaving, Lucy pulls something out of her bag.
As she returns to stand in front of him, she’s shaking her head gently, and Tim’s never felt more confused in his life. He’s frozen, still down on one knee, the velvet box still outstretched in his trembling grip.
The confusion only grows when he clocks the watery smile adorning her face. He has no idea what’s happening right now.
But then his eyes flick down, and he finds there’s a small velvet box in her hands, too.
