Summary
The roar beyond their balcony was never something they thought to fear, but the wild flames that raged outside served as the harsh lesson to teach them otherwise. Their world was crumbling down bit by bit each second; the lights had been unable to retain a constant charge as they flickered violently before finally going out. But the bright light of the fire remained ever flickering in their white, shining gaze. The heat had grown too much, different functions shutting down and malfunctioning as errors read across their display like desperate cries for help upon deaf ears. They never thought it would be possible to understand the pained cries of a toddler after a scrape until they could feel bits and pieces of themselves chip and melt away.
They were programmed to never leave the daycare, but it seems desperation leads to new protocols being made.
