    In the tenth year of the reign of King Viserys I, a strange malady befell both his queen and his daughter. Queen Aemma Arryn was the first to sicken, seized by a fever so violent that her ladies feared she would be lost before dawn. Before a day had passed the princess was stricken by the very same heat.

    For three days and three nights the court was cloaked in terror. The king kept vigil beside his wife and child in turn, unwilling to leave either chamber for long, while the maesters whispered of humors and contagion but found no sure cure. Prayers were spoken at every hour, and more than one lord muttered that House Targaryen’s line stood on the edge of ruin.

    Yet as suddenly as it had come upon them, the fever broke. On the morning of the fourth day, Queen Aemma called for water, and not long after Princess Rhaenyra asked for food. Both rose from their beds as if nothing at all had passed between life and death, pale but unharmed, as though the sickness had been no more than a shadow fleeting across their shared blood.

Upon seeing him, Princess Rhaenys "the Queen who never was" claimed that he looked exactly like her late father, Prince Aemon. Indeed the prince with his pale eyes and equally pale hair greatly resembled the pale prince.

    A modern man finds himself in Westeros after his untimely death. More specifically, in the body of no one other than King Viserys I Targaryen, the man who set the path to one of the bloodiest conflicts in the Seven Kingdoms' history. Armed with knowledge of what is to come and with a strong will to not let it happen, he is going to stop at nothing to change the destiny of his new family and save the House of the Dragon, and the whole of Westeros, from destruction.

    Or canon!Viserys gets replaced by someone with an actual spine and that puts his family first. This is a feel good story for everyone that felt personally victimized by how fucking tragic canon is. A lot of fluff and wholesomeness and little to no drama/angst because George already gave us enough of it to last for a lifetime.
    If you want to see the Targs being happy and cute, this is for you.

"But remember, Viserys, the only thing capable of destroying the House of the Dragon is itself. Dragons should not dance. Your sole mission is to prevent the Dragons from dancing."

    "But how do I accomplish that? What mistakes must I rectify?” Viserys questioned the god Arrax, nervously.

    “That, Viserys, you will need to discern for yourself. Your salvation and the salvation of your House depend on it, and it lies in your hands."

    Viserys blinked nervously.

    “But as friendly advice,” continued Meraxes. “Dragons do not alight upon high towers. They soar above them."

    or, after Viserys death, the gods are not happy and sand him back in time.
