I don’t like “That 70’s Show”; that said, there’s one joke from the whole thing I still remember quite clearly. Kitty Forman told Jackie Burkart she couldn’t swap bed partners like she did in a square dance, or something to that effect. My brain at the time immediately followed up with, “Well, not in reality—but you can in fanfiction!”
That one joke has become the basis for most of my fanfiction ever since.
Result: I write smut. Sometimes there’s a plot. Not allowed: children, Puritanical bible-thumping righties, or overly-offended whiny lefties. ‘Nuff said.
