She returns to look at Jackie, noticing the gym bag stuffed with clothes and cash.

Summary
Tai had a vague idea of where she was headed but not a word for it. She wasn’t thinking about it, she was just running, moving her body in a direction that felt imperative for the thing she was seeking. Her other thoughts melted softly like snow, and she felt herself peeling back, or pulling down, as something (someone) else superimposed.
