Summary
Jaskier was honestly looking forward to Geralt claiming his Child Surprise. The circumstances--and Ciri herself--just aren't what he imagined. She's acting...strangely. The dwarves don't seem to mind, but they haven't woken up to her staring at them in the middle of the night. Most teens refuse to eat or sleep or speak at some point, right? She'll feel better when they reach Kaer Morhen. He just has to make it a few more days, travelling alone with her through perilous, unknown terrain to the secret Witcher stronghold.
...It'll be fine.
In which a bard contends with a demon in disguise, and the trees in the Blue Mountains do a lot of heavy lifting. Thanks, trees. No mystery here.

Summary

The object is unknown. A brightly colored disc. It crumples the alloys in the metal arm’s palm and strains the finger joints as they lock onto it. Upon impact, a powerful vibration shudders up through every segment of metal on the Asset’s inorganic appendage, humming and shivering and ringing inside the chest, resounding uncomfortably inside the head and ears.
Behind it, a face wavers in the distance: framed by blond hair, floating over broad, heaving shoulders.

The Asset does not remember Steve Rogers, but inside, SOMEONE does. Someone old, someone fractured, someone hidden. Bucky Barnes is has not lived in seventy years. Captain America has awakened a ghost.

Tucker's day has taken a characteristic turn for the worse. A bunch of idiots in colorful armor showed up, (former) Freelancer in the lead, to save him from some crazy, overpowered megalomaniac after the Chosen One's sword. And then the moody one with the knife turned traitor and stabbed him. And Tucker, for his part, is really not surprised. He's noticing some patterns in his life, you might say. But he can reflect on that later, because wow, does it suck when people nearly manage to kill you. Almost as much as it sucks when they nearly kill your friends...
