So Lan Wangji always follows the man he tells himself he’s not allowed to love. Even if love is forbidden, for surely Wei Wuxian doesn’t feel the same way, he’s allowed to check up on a friend, isn’t he?

Summary
Based on that scene from book two, only this time... they go a bit further. A lot further.
Their eyes widened at the same time.
Wei Wuxian pulled back at once, feeling all color drain from his face. He tried standing up, and would have fallen over backwards if it wasn’t for Lan Wangji catching his forearm. He instinctively tried to pull loose, but his hands were still bound by the forehead ribbon so he didn’t have enough force.
“Don’t go.”
At Lan Wangji’s words, he stilled. Wei Wuxian looked up to meet the Lan boy’s eyes, only to find an expression he’d never expected him to wear. Lan Wangji’s eyes were clear and steady like always, but this time they were also wide and pleading.
