Summary
Colt and Porco grow up together and find comfort in each other's company when their friends leave for war. When they catch feelings for each other, they get caught in a perpetual whirlwind of feelings, denial, anger, and makeup-kisses. Colt has to face off against the duties that bind him, while Porco fights as much for Marely as he fights to understand his place in his friend (maybe boyfriend?)'s life.
A chronicle of Porco and Colt's love story through the years - every other chapter told from Porco and Colt's POV. Written to fit seamlessly between their canon interactions in them manga (and to give delicious, shippy context to those moments).

warm spring nights of 2022 is how i‘d like to remember this fic.
sat, or more like lying down, on my bed twisting and turning with each moment, each revelation that the characters and plot presented to my mind.
it made its way to my heart, carving out a place full of kites; forbidden love; and soft touches - moulding me and my pulse and veins.
by luck i found this fic, scouring the internet for a simple rarepair that led me to something that i cherished; something that i couldnt take my eyes off of; something that broke my heart and mended it - something that i locked away because of such potent emotion and nostalgia.
but now, 2026, 4 years and some months later, on a warm summer night, i‘ve finally regained the courage to reopen this, relive the words sprawled on my screen, trek through this drag path that my younger self left and experience it all again.
those weeks of reading, of checking for updates, of awaiting the epilogues all under the clouds of my own turmoil, with a beacon of familiarity and happiness in my hands, sheltering me from the rain that fell in my life - they‘re all ready to be uncovered and analysed, as those past battles were fought and won, and new wars were declared and conquered, giving me new lenses and sight into every aspect of life, especially love.
so to me, 4 years ago, thank you for discovering this fic, and to me, 4 years from now - dont ever forget about it.
as this was it, the thing that changed me.
and i couldn’t have been more glad that it did.

Honestly, one of the most beautifully written and gorgeously heartbreaking stories I‘ve read. The descriptions and repetition of mundane life in the early chapters slowly being taken over and rattled by Bina‘s arrival, its so masterful - how quickly love can wrap around you and make you feel somewhat grounded, like the days are no longer repeats but each new adventure, one after another.
And as I lay here on my bed in June, curled up under my duvet craving this love, I can’t help but be at awe and splendor of how well this story captures existentialism and partly, depression.
It is incredible, angelic if I may be cheeky.
This is a story that I might come back to in a few years time and replay how I felt today, and how my feelings have changed.
And to future me who will come across this tale again, let the love that blooms in real life be as gentle and innocent as the love that bloomed in this story.

this was one of the most gentle and delicate stories i've read. it‘s portrayal of bullying and the conversation around sexuality in adolescence really resonated with me and my experiences during my high school days. i feel like this is a gift, a very beautiful and wonderful tale of love and acceptance. this is why it‘s my first bookmark, it left a lasting impact and i always come back to it. thank you for writing this.
