Dan’s not the best at anything, if he’s honest with himself.
He’s been fired from every job he’s ever worked in, his marriage is quickly and steadily heading towards a divorce, and all his friendships are all but ash on the wind.
But then that meteorite crashes on the outskirts of the city, and he changes. As does Laurie. As do other people around the valley.
And, well…
He might not be the best coach the kids could have, or the support Frank and Vanessa really need, but the newly made Pickles place their trust in him regardless.
Dan won’t let that trust go to waste.

Summary
The Realm of Ninjago is made of legends and strings of fate.
The thing is, Val’s pretty sure she isn’t part of that fate.
Especially considering Ninjago is. Y’know. A children’s show.
But then she somehow finds herself thrown into this world, as impossible as it is, and with seemingly no way out.
Now stuck between a hard place and the show’s main plot, Val realizes that the cartoon wildly tuned down just how horrifying the place really was. What with the constant villain attacks and the prophecies that never stop coming, living in Ninjago is nothing short of a nightmare.
So Val’s making sure she wakes up on the other side of the screen.

Summary
On Shadyside, hunger rests behind every corner, and war hangs heavy on the horizon.
Ever since their Blood Garden stopped baring fruit, Nightwalkers have been forced to starve. As the nights passed and their trees remained sick, the way to survival became clear: they’d have to return to the Orchard.
And as a result, face the Daywalkers once more.
Nightwalker and Daywalkers are two sides of the same coin. Equally matched in magic and history, the races, though warring, are intrinsically connected to each other. Which meant that if the Nightwalkers’ trees stopped baring fruit, there was a high chance Daywalkers’ had gotten sick, too.
Faced with starvation, Daywalkers would seek out the old harvesting grounds of their ancestors, just as them.
But a meeting between the tribes will only end reigniting the flame of war, and this time, only one would walk out the battle alive.
Val leaves towards the Orchard knowing fully well she might be reduced to ashes.
She returns with the prospect of war buried six feet under, enough bloodfruit to last generations, and peace finally dawning over Mount Rayburn.
(She also falls in love, but that’s another part of the story.)

Summary
Laurie’s not sure how she got herself into this situation.
Her relationship with Yuwen started and ended on the field. They’re teammates - used to be teammates. Nothing more, nothing less. She can never make conversation with him, always stuttering or saying the wrong thing, and Yuwen always teases her, the line between sharp and playful far too blurred after years of biting remarks.
By all means, they shouldn’t ever have fallen into…whatever this is.
But, well. No one else hugs her as tight as Yuwen does, and Laurie’s never seen the boy as pleasantly happy as when they’re together.
So.
Laurie’s just going to go along with it, and see where things go.
(Laurie and Yuwen get into an “acquaintances with benefits” situationship, with the benefits being cuddles.)

Summary
In an island deep in the sea rests the Valley Between Peaks, where a solitary tribe goes about its days. Though humans aren’t the only ones inhabiting the Valley. No, no. There, in the island, there’s dragons.
Through the years, the humans and the dragons have reached peace, with a special team of dragon enthusiasts – the Dragon Handlers – studying the dragons and establishing contact with them to help the tribe in their day to day. However, despite the peace and aid between both species, they both still keep to their own.
When news reach the island that other tribes have started riding dragons, however, and utilizing them to reach higher distances and uncover secrets far beyond everyone’s wildest dreams, the tribe decides it is time for them to establish a better bond with the dragons of the valley.
As so, they enlist Dan, the only remaining Dragon Handler, to train their young and whichever dragons they are bonded with to ride out into the sea and gather whatever treasures they can find.
The Dragonriders of the Valley are born. And with the promise of fame and gold, they set off towards adventure.

Laurie invited Rochelle and Kai to her house to bake a cake and maybe catch up, except Kai invited Taylor along, and she brought her little brother with her, and Yuwen is just there and she doesn’t even know why.
She’s pretty sure she’s not going to bake ever again.
“Laurie did you hear that? This is good stuff, she said to add vanilla essence to the mix.”
“I am going to eviscerate you-”
“IRA! PUT DOWN THE SUGAR NOW!”

Summary
Sen parts ways with Wu after reaching Ignacia, and after almost dying to the Skulkin, she runs and never looks back.
There’s no master to train her or guide her, or a team to soother her nerves.
The only thing Sen has is her mind, her certainty, her drive to help others in need.
It’s not her fault the Serpentine were mistreated, or Lloyd abandoned, or fate merciless. She can’t stand to the side while knowing other people are suffering. That’s not who she is – who she wants to be.
As it stands, Sen just can’t keep altering the story, defying the cruel destiny that she knows those people don’t deserve.
Gods, just- damn her stupid, bleeding heart.

Being a Hogwarts student is fun.
In theory.
In actuality, having to relive your childhood as someone that you’re not, in a country you have no loyalty for, and with a war fast approaching, is certainly upsetting.
…more than a little upsetting.
Four Hogwarts students decide they’re not going to fall to the war, and in spite of all the prejudices that rule Britain, they decide to do it together.
Now if only they figured out they’re not the only real person in the group...

Hilly Woodlands is the slowest town in the world.
And of course, everyone there loves that!
Except for four thrill-seeking kids, who are not about to let their town bore them to death.
And so, the city changes, shifts, transforms, and the lives of everyone who lived on it get a hell of a lot faster.
Guess the thrill-seekers got their wish. But now, there are other four kids who are dissatisfied.
Too bad there’s nothing they can do about it…hey, what’s that symbol on the heroes’ cars?
