Summary
With her parents getting divorced, Marcelle is made move out of her hometown in Regina, and to Massachusetts to attend Briar with her cousin.
Her parents, believing that this is with her best interests in mind, send her on her way before the messiness (in their words) of the divorce take place.
She has to drop the familiarity, and friends of Regina, to start a new life in Briar, with the help of her cousin, his friends, and her new roommates.
