Summary
Daemon chose to leave her. He chose to run away and marry Laena in the same way she had begged him to take her. With his betrayal the last piece of her heart that he held was irreparably broken. Rhaenyra resolves to move forward with her life. Laenor may not have been the husband of her choice but at least he was here. He had not left, even with his own feelings against the match. Rhaenyra decided that perhaps loyalty might be preferable to passion.

So I’m writing small anti-R/L drabbles around an AU based on Phantom248’s concept for “Promise” cause I liked the concept and huge credits to Phantom248.Basically, in “Promise” Tywin offers to rebuild Summer Hall to make Cersei Rhaegar’s queen and Aerys accepts because he wants Summer Hall restored cause ‘Targaryen supremacy’ but Summer Hall is more of a ‘Lannister power’ symbol (not that anyone tells Aerys that).
And Cersei ends up marrying Rhaegar, has his kids, and hordes Rhaella & Viserys at Summer Hall whenever she can.
Jaime marries Elia cause Tywin doesn’t wanna take chances in case Aerys decides that he wants Elia’s distant valyrian ancestry for Rhaegar.
And Rhaegar is still an idiot obsessed with things that shouldn’t take importance over what is important at the moment.
