Lan Wangji se niega a interactuar con su esposo, tiene claro (o no) que no es él a quien ama. Lan Xichen intenta suavizar este hecho, pero termina atrapado en un triángulo amoroso del que "no" quiere ser parte.
Sin embargo, Lan Wangji sigue siendo cruel con el pobre y desconocido chico, y tras un rotundo "Seguiré buscando romper este matrimonio" Lan Xichen decide que no tiene que seguir negando lo que siente y se sumerge en el peor rasgo de un Lan.

He was down to the last finger of bourbon in his third glass, not even tipsy yet, when a gentle but strong and familiar voice called out to him, “Wuxian? Wei Wuxian?”
Wuxian’s eyes widened as he turned to see a face he hadn’t seen in nearly a decade. “Xichen?”
