Summary
A car enters a lake in Bright Falls, and something in the lake wakes up.
Cauldron Lake has claimed so many souls over the years, and living next door to it takes its toll. No one knows this better than Ilona Danbridge, former resident of Watery and current "guest" of the FBC. When she returns to the Cauldron Lake area with an FBC team to investigate reports of a potential OOP, she finds herself caught up in a mix of espionage and a race against time to stop the lake from waking up fully.
Meanwhile, as the lake claims another victim, Meg Foster must navigate a ritual in an attempt to escape its clutches. With her own memory limited after a car accident, and having to care for herself as well as the man she finds unconcious on the lake shore, will she manage to get out unscathed?
