But with only six seconds left in the countdown, she knew she didn't have time for the power cells to charge up the personal force shield to protect her body against the explosion that would bring her Sanctuary down on her head.

"Bloody hell," she whispered, bowing to the inevitable fact that this was one death she wasn't going to be able to cheat.
