Merlin is definitely supposed to work for Arthur, but spends most of his time mocking Arthur's dress sense, berating him via IM with Morgana, sending Gwen capslock-filled emails about him and, most of all, trying not to fall in love with the shiny-shoed ponce. Arthur, meanwhile, is definitely supposed to be taking over his father's company some day, but instead spends most of his time scowling at Merlin, making lists about him, trying to find excuses to fire him and, most of all, trying to pretend he is totally not head-over-heels for the jumped up little upstart. Someone's got to make some difficult choices eventually, and this can only lead to one thing: angst. Or hilarity. Or, embarrassingly enough, self-discovery.

“Find me in Oxenfurt,” he tells Geralt, “if you can. It’s beautiful in the fall.”
“Jaskier, I—”
Geralt opens his mouth, and for a second, Jaskier thinks he is going to say some big words. The big words.
“I’m going to miss you,” he settles on.
The snow is melting, but Geralt fusses, tightening Jaskier’s coat over and over again, to the point that his hands have to be batted away. The warmth that spreads to Jaskier’s fingertips almost feels like love. For a moment, he thinks that alone can replace all the emptiness in his chest.
Or,
Jaskier leaves, so he can one day return. At the same time, Geralt learns to do better.

“I just had the best idea I have ever had in my life,” Bucky said, punching straight through a doombot with his metal hand and clutching the napkin with Steve’s phone number in the other. The formerly (somewhat) dark and peaceful corner of Central Park was now lit up with energy beams, flashing robotic lights, and panicked astronomy buffs running for cover. Oh well, it wasn't like they'd been going to see many stars what with all the Christmas shit everywhere.
“The bar you are setting for that is not high,” Natasha told him over the coms.
