Lilly Venn would tell anyone that she joined the Survey Corps because she wanted to explore beyond the walls and help defend humanity. But her real reason was simply that she wanted freedom.
Lilly learned early in life that she is a survivor, and that proves to be even more true as she grows her career as a Scout. When the Special Ops Squad is formed, Lilly is one of the chosen few and considered among the elite of the Corps. As an official member of Team Levi, she finds herself becoming closer to her Captain, and developing feelings beyond that of a subordinate and her superior. Tragedy and loss bring them ever closer together, to the point where she can't just ignore it anymore, and she takes a risk.
