If someone were to ask why River holds room in his heart for Spider, he might say something half true like, “I’ve known him a long time.” Or “we grew up together.” Or maybe even a straight up lie like, “he hasn’t always been like this.”

It probably lies in the same reasoning as to why he humiliates himself for Lamb’s approval, or why he feels the closest to Louisa when she’s pissed at him. He’s some sort of masochist. He didn’t get enough attention as a kid. He has a humiliation fetish. Whatever the reason, River feels a terrible overwhelming sense of fondness for Spider. How awful.

    Summary

Anthony Bridgerton is reeling from a series of personal and professional missteps when his family hires Kate Sharma to serve as General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer of the Bridgerton family office.

Anthony views Kate as living proof that his family no longer trusts him or his judgment. Kate thinks Anthony is the most arrogant, unlikeable man she has ever met.

When they actually start working together, they both quickly realize that the truth—like their feelings for one another—is far more complicated.

It was the day before he left, and Miles Edgeworth still had not given Phoenix Wright the invitation.

This was silly. He should have dropped off the envelope weeks ago; a crisp, wax-sealed envelope with one letter of invitation to a prosecutor’s annual publicity event held in Munich. Included in the paper was an all-expenses paid plane ticket, a week in a hotel Edgeworth himself most likely even couldn’t afford, all meals and room fees waved away. This was the vacation Phoenix needed, an easy excursion all set up for him. Edgeworth knew that. So why hadn’t he given him the envelope yet?

“Yeah… I’ll see you in court, Mr. Edgeworth,” Phoenix says, lifting his chin up. He meets Miles’ gaze and feels the beginning of a familiar smile pulling at his lips. He slowly steps forward, only stopping when he meets resistance in the form of Miles’ shoes. “And… I’ll see you in court, Mr. Wright.”

Miles mirrors his smile, standing equal and beautiful before him at the top of the steps that Phoenix has forever waited for him on. “And I’ll see you in court, Mr. Edgeworth.”

(An analysis of Miles and Phoenix’s changing relationship over time — the trials they withstand, the importance of loyalty and truth, and how it feels to love and be loved in return, equally and wholeheartedly. Spans from Christmas 2001 to post-AA4.)
