Steve told him he’d been filled with so many conflicting feelings; joyful of the life growing inside him, the fact that it was theirs, worried about them not being mated yet or in a stable place - Eddie lived with his uncle still and Steve haunted his big big house all alone, never sure when his parents might show up again to drag his mood back to the depths - and a tiny panic that Eddie was going to be upset, because despite his frantic wild energy, Eddie liked having plans, Eddie liked following those plans to a T, hated when he was thrown off or surprised by big things.

Steve couldn’t help but nuzzle closer to Eddie, his arms tightening around the alpha, “It was stupid. Totally my fault though.”

It was unfair, really, how considerate Eddie could be sometimes. Steve didn’t think Eddie was going to push for details or insist that Steve go easier on himself; it seemed like he was going to just be there for him and encourage him to make up with Robin. It all left Steve feeling guilty and uncomfortable, he was sure his scent was souring at the thoughts but he couldn’t stop his mind from spiraling.
