    Lambert feels like he will burst, sometimes, just looking at Aiden, and it’s uncomfortable and too much and everything inside him screams flee.

    He tries to ignore it, but that urge grows alongside the unnamed choking thing until he finds himself in Lady’s saddle one day while Aiden is out hunting for their supper. He was supposed to set up camp, get the fire going, and instead he’s still in the saddle, gripping Lady’s reins too tightly. She dances nervously underneath him, clearly picking up on his tension, and before he can think about it, he digs his heels in, urges her in the opposite direction Aiden had gone just minutes ago.

    It hurts.

    Or: Lambert finds an anonymous love confession in his saddle bags, and promptly loses all semblance of control over his life.
