Ed was already impatient enough as it was, desperation slowly building in their bond as they made their way through the city, up the stairs, down the hall, and Al couldn‘t say he fared much better.
He wanted to be finally, finally alone with his soulmate.
They crashed into each other as soon as the door closed behind them, impossible to say who moved first. One moment to the next they were clinging onto each other for dear life, Ed's hands fisted in the back of Al's shirt, Al's arms squeezing Ed as firmly as he dared with the still healing wound at his ribs.
Al buried his face against the crook of Ed's shoulder, breathing in his scent, sharp with blood and antiseptic and yet endlessly familiar, endlessly comforting. He could feel Ed's heart pulsing leisurely against his nose, pressed against the soft skin of Ed's neck, breathing deep.
