Summary
Nanami suspected he should feel threatened by the curse’s presence, but there was something about the scene that had him more intrigued than fearful. Neither emotion compared to that of relief, for even if he wasn’t in control, seeing Itadori’s body in front of him had to mean that the boy was alive— had been alive all this time.
Their hope hadn’t been in vain.
About to open his mouth and address the curse, Sukuna raised a finger to his face and stopped him. He looked the sorcerer over in search of something and let out a growl between his teeth, leaving Nanami unsure if he found what he was looking for.
Then, Sukuna spoke.
“Tell anyone that we are here, and I will see that as an attack worth killing you over.”
❤ Itadori Yuji disappeared off the face of the earth exactly one year ago. Theories, accusations, and threats have been made during the search to bring him home, but no worthwhile progress has been made in light of the efforts of those who care about him. “Sukuna.”
The sound of his name was a shock to the senses. It made his body go cold and his spine go rigid. He must have been mistaken. He continued to trudge through the bodies and followed the wall next to where he had woken up.
“Don’t ignore me, you piece of shit! I know you heard me! Sukuna!”
Sukuna’s skin prickled with disquiet. No one had used his name in so long, and never to speak to him. The man must be from very far away - he didn’t sound like any of the villagers or the travelling merchants.
“Hey! I’m talking to you!”

In a moment of weakness, Sukuna meets Yuji, a strange man in unconventional clothes and an outlandish manner. He claims to know Sukuna yet Sukuna has never met him before. It goes against every fibre of his being to pay any attention to Yuji, but he cannot help but be intrigued and Yuji cannot seem to let him go.
