Summary
Buck spent the next two days drifting in and out of sleep.
Every time he woke, someone was there.
Hen reading quietly at his bedside. Chimney cracking jokes he barely had the energy to laugh at. Eddie sitting silently, presence heavy and grounding.
But Bobby and Athena never left for long.
On the third night, Buck woke to find Athena sitting beside him, one hand resting over his, thumb stroking slow circles over his skin.
