Summary
When Glenn died, Felix left his tiny beach town and vowed to never return. Five years later, Jeralt dies and he finds himself heading back as a favor to Byleth. It's only for the funeral, he tells himself. Attend the funeral, grace his friends with the most minimal of goodbyes, and leave before the night fell. He could manage that much at least. Annette has other plans.
In which Felix is forced to face his past and Annette is there to help him through it.

Fluffcember prompt: Reassurances
Anette enjoyed market day, despite how much the war had affected the town neighboring the monastery. She enjoyed the challenge of running errands in the most time effective way, even if she felt a little guilty watching Ashe haggle with the already struggling merchants. She loved running through the list early in the morning, cross referencing the items with each member of the army, so much as double checking the stores to mark down even the things they couldn't find or afford. Market days made her feel more useful than any other day, easily corralling the most efficient members of the army to come aid her in carrying essential goods back into the monastery.
All of this however did not make for her favorite part of the trip.No, her favorite part of the trip had been presented to her that afternoon in the form of Felix making rounds with a small herd of children not far behind.

No, Annette was unshakingly committed to seeing nothing but the truest potential in people. That was, after all, how she got this job. It was why she was so good at it. The reason year after year, her students left her warm and touching reviews after her course ended each semester. Annette focused on getting to know her class, connecting with their pasts and current interests, encouraging them to put forth their best effort whenever and wherever possible. Even when her classes had the occasional mishap, her bright infectious positivity lit up even the surliest unlikely student.
Given that account, she was nothing but certain that she would become fast friends with the Academy’s newest instructors.
