Summary
Taehyung kisses each member of the pack goodbye, and he comes to Jungkook last. It’s a long farewell. Jungkook’s not sure why. It’s not as though they’ve never spent a night away from each other— they’ve both traveled before, a weekend trip with friends, romantic getaways with one or two of the other pack members, but two weeks feels like eternity. Jungkook wants to ask if he can come, wants to fold himself into Taehyung’s suitcase, but this is important, a chance for Taehyung to break down stereotypes about their presentation, an opportunity for Taehyung to try something new, to be his own person outside of the pack, and that’s important to him, Jungkook knows it is, so he’s the one to step back, to let go first.
