Summary
After spending years away and hidden, Alec Lightwood returns to New York. His first task is to go to his father's funerals and take the hold of the mafia imperium that his farher left behind.
Meanwhile Magnus Bane, the successfull business man of Bane industries and the owner of the night club is confused, frustrated and angry. He had been a great ally of Robert Lightwood. But now after the sudden sad news, he is more that suspicious about this new Lightwood mafia leader, as he had never heard that Robert Lightwood had an elder son. That must be a mistake. Or then he had been fooled all along.This is the story about how Alec and Magnus find their ways into eachother's hearts despite complicated circumstances.
ps. The warning about the major character's death is referring Alec's father, Robert Lightwood. He is already gone when this story begins. However, there is quite a lot of talk about his death in the first chapters, so I decided to put the warning over there, so you can decide wether you want to read further or not. This is a bit darker strory, so I hope you take care of yourself and read only if you feel comfortable. Alec and Magnus will both be ok.

"Yeah, no problem Magnus. Good that you found your way here in the first place. I suppose the signal tower they added two years ago should keep the internet signal quite ok for google maps even here," Alec said and smiled shyly. "Oh, just wait, I need to put the water in the tub, so you will have enough..." he said and started to walk towards the building he had come from before. "... I thought that you would like a sauna after long drive, so I built a fire there too... " he shouted behind himself, took the water buckets from the steps and carried them inside the building. The dogs had lost interest in Magnus already and were sniffing around the beach area of the lake.
"Well that is lovely, thank you, Alec," Magnus shouted at the closing door.
...or, the short story where Magnus, who has been living his whole life in the big cities, find himself in the Finnish backwoods 85 kilometers from the nearest civilisation. There he realizes that the urban rules don't fit in all places, and finds a new way to live with the guidance of certain tall, dark and handsome man called Alec Lightwood.

Welcome to a tropical island with Malec! ☀️🌴
Magnus is a lonely warlock who lives on an isolated island in the Indian ocean. He had got bored of people in general and the warloc community in particular, because there was always somebody demanding something from him. So he decided to retire and move to one of his islands, which he had won about one hundred years ago in some silly bet.
Alec is a marine biologist who enjoys his lonely adventures in his small sailing boat, where he lives and makes his diving investigations whenever he wants. His boat is modern and full of hightech equipement and a fully furnished laboratory, and of course a small corner to sleep, cook and eat. He had been sailing with his boat for quite a few months now, and decided to stop at an isolated island and look for water.
I am not a marine biologist nor a sailor so please excuse any mistakes I may make with regard to this part of the story.
Characters in this story are based on Cassandra Clare's books and on the Shadowhunters tv- series. But the story is all mine. In this fic, there is little bit of the shadow world included, but not in great detail.
