For the first time in weeks, he almost laughs. Because except for the glasses perched on top of her brown hair, it’s like looking in a mirror. Jacket thrown over the chair; files strewn about the desk; the tiredness in her eyes. She looks about as worn out as he feels.
He lightly knocks on the door, pulling her out of her bubble.
“Hey, Carisi. This is a surprise.”
“I was on my way home and uh - I ended up here instead.”

They’d just always had a close relationship.
