Summary
Nicholas just doesn’t understand. He and Euijoo have been in near-death situations before, plenty of times. They've always had each other’s backs, they’ve always healed and recovered and learned and clutched each other closer in the aftermath.
The question of death was one that was well felt and understood between them and any other hunter worth their salt, and Nicholas really thought the answer was obvious, an unspoken tradition of all hunters— they would love each other harder in private, but try and keep it out of any potential reach for those that might use it against them.
Now, he's regretting that assumption.

The contrast of his dark hair and tanned skin. The swell of his calf, too, Zoro finds distracting. The artful leanness of his captain.
In those moments Zoro’s knees go weak. He nearly drops his swords, he’s so overcome with it.
Beautiful, he thinks, and he’s got no clue if it’s him or his alpha thinking it. Beautiful. We'd be so good to you.
