Summary
After Bobby's funeral, Eddie and Buck return to their home. They're grieving, but at least they have each other.
~
Eddie leans back, both knees on the floor now, and tries to meet Buck’s eyes. “I’m sorry,” he hears Buck tell him quietly, finally looking at his best friend. Buck feels selfish. He’s not the only person who lost someone.
“Buck,” Eddie starts, matching his tone. “You’re always there for me. Let me be here for you.”

Summary
During their first fight, Tommy calls Buck exhausting, bringing to the surface a wound that Buck had pushed down when Eddie finally forgave him. Naturally, he spirals.
~
"Buck feels like he’s been slapped. Actually, being slapped might have hurt less than hearing those words come out of Tommy’s mouth. But they’re out there now, and suddenly Buck is right back in that grocery store- his best friends, his family, looking at him like they don’t know who he is. Like he could be any other civilian buying produce and cleaning supplies. All except Eddie, of course, who’s letting Buck know exactly how he feels.
“Because you’re exhausting,” Eddie bites. Buck’s never heard him sound so angry before. He’s breathing heavily, pointing at Buck accusingly. If Buck really considers it, he can also recognize a sadness in his voice. The kind that makes someone bitter, that makes them lash out."

Summary
While watching a nature documentary about marine life with his best friend late at night, Eddie realizes some startling similarities between his relationship with Buck and two albatross birds on the screen. This causes him to do some thinking (only minor spiraling!), before he realizes what he needs, what he's always wanted, has been right in front of him all along.
