Summary
Penelope is quiet for a long while after he nodded his head and confirmed he was inquiring about whether or not she has changed her mind about having a baby with him.
"I…" she starts before swallowing once. "Well, I suppose as the years have gone on… I have imagined it a time or two, yes."
Colin knows she is telling the truth, and for the first time in a long time, he is also able to read her and surmise there is more still she is holding back.
"Is that something you wish for?" he asks cautiously. "A babe? One of your own?"
Pen's big, pale blue eyes blink at him twice slowly before she starts nibbling on her lip in a decidedly nervous gesture. "That is… We did not… We married for other purposes. I do not expect—"
"I am not asking what you expect," he interrupts, keeping his tone gentle, though, so as not to scare her out of this spell of vulnerability he's found her in tonight. "I am asking simply what you desire for yourself. Do you want a baby, Pen?"
"Yes."

Or, regency era Penelope and Colin have been in marriage of convenience for five years and decide to have a child together—platonically of course.

Summary
When her friend Genevieve suggested she... explore other options to finally end her sexual drought, Penelope only laughed at the idea. Later that night, however, she could not help but check out the cam site her friend had recommended.
Deciding she did not really have much to lose, she finally made an account and started scrolling through the page. What she saw was truly eye-opening, if not somewhat scarring.
She had almost given up for the day when she found him...
He was the most handsome man she had ever seen in her life and just the sight of him had her dripping wet. As soon as she entered a private chat and heard his voice for the very first time, Penelope knew she was done for.

Summary
"You can't distract me, who isn't being fucked properly?" Colin's eyes have lit up, ever the gossip.
Eloise gestures to Pen, too drunk to heed her pleading eyes, "Penelope. Can you believe it? A body like that and no man has managed to get her off? A travesty!"
"Fucksake," Penelope moans, covering her face with her hands.
Colin swivels towards her, swaying slightly at the speed he moved, "You're lying."
"Colin, I really can't have this conversation with you." She already knows that the man she's madly in love with would never understand. She's seen his Instagram posts, the girls all over him. It's not going to be anything he can relate to.

Summary
Penelope had never thought herself particularly perceptive when it came to the affections of men.
A lifetime of being overlooked had made it easy to assume no one would look.
So when Benedict lingered to her side, when his gaze traced her lips as she spoke of another man, when his fingers brushed against her own and he exhaled like it meant something — she did not question it.
Not until she saw the sketchbook.
She had only reached for it absentmindedly, a teasing remark about his secretive artistry at the tip of her tongue. But the moment her fingers flipped through the pages, the words died.
Because there she was.
Not once. Not twice. But everywhere.
She turned to him, lips parted in realization, as his fingers traced the ink-stained edges of her wrist and she understood.
That he had never pitied her.
That he had never simply been her friend.
That somewhere along the way, while she had been busy hiding from the world—Benedict Bridgerton had fallen devastatingly, irrevocably, in love with her.
And he was hers to ruin.
