So this is my take on everything that happened in-between the scenes of the Silvacre relationship. From Chapter 19 I've added a GJ tag as I keep stealing characters from that show.

Franky Doyle didn’t believe in ghosts. She had enough horrors following her during the waking hours that the thought of anything sinister visiting in the night did not scare her, she didn’t even bat an eye. Prison could do that to a person, turn them cold inside. But maybe some people were just cursed from the beginning.

Franky Doyle has a choice: maximum time in a minimum security prison... or the arena, a weekly competition in which prisoners, sponsored by the city's elite, try to kill each other for the entertainment of the public.
Bridget Westfall also has a choice: continue to ignore the arena's existence, marking it up as an unfortunate stain on her father's legacy, or sponsor one of the incoming prisoners, and in doing so help them survive.
Together, maybe they can break the chain.
