Her silvery otter burst from her wand and began to swim around her. The crowd gasped, and a few clapped. She sent the Patronus dashing about over the crowd’s head.
“This is a Patronus charm. You’ll learn how to do it at Hogwarts in your later years. Everyone has a different animal.”
The otter swam through the air over to Draco, dancing around his feet. Hermione smiled as Draco brushed his fingers through the trailing wisps of the charm.
She cut the magic off and returned her wand to its holster, the otter puffing out of existence.
“What animal do you have?” a little girl asked Draco.
He glanced at Hermione, cheeks going pink.

He glances at the boxy too-uniform numbers flashing on the face of Richard’s radio. It’s nearly noon, and he should be getting ready to leave; but there is still a harsh tension in his shoulders and neck that he wants to work out before Hermione finds him.
It is, after all, Tuesday; and while his Tuesdays were designated ‘tea with Helen’ days previously, they are now ‘lunch with Granger’ days, ever since the chance meet-up with the Weasel’s wife and the insufferable swot herself.
