She shouldn’t have looked. Zelda can’t stop chastising herself for it afterwards, cursing herself for her deadly curiosity.
Rather than Link impaling a variety of monsters with his silly purple sword, he instead has a very different sword in hand and is certainly not slaying anything with it.

He dares look behind himself. He’s bleeding out, he knows that, but the trail of crimson he’s leaving sure is a stylish way to die. It could be one of his favorites, if only it didn’t hurt to the point that it takes away his breath.
He’s contaminating everything. The blood spreads into the snow, tinging it a scarlet color that matches Owen’s right eye. Or Cain’s left one.
