“Feeling anything deeper than that? You know I don’t judge. Just not really keen to let you drive a car if you’re suicidal or something.”
Buck rubbed his face, sighing, putting his face in his hands. “Not suicidal, wouldn’t mind not existing though. Is there an abyss I can step into?”
“Nope,” said Eddie. He reached over to rub his back, gentle.
“I’m fine,” he insisted after a bit. “I’ll be fine.”
“Where are you going after this?”
“I don’t know. 7-11.”
“Wanna text me when you get home?”
“Yeah, sure.”
“And if you need me, even if it’s the middle of the night, you can come over. Use your key if I’m sleeping and come wake me up.”
I don’t deserve a friend like him, he thought.
