   Summary

   Robin’s crying, and the tears that creep their way down her face sting, as if they’re burning tracks in her fair, freckled skin. Her strangled words are enough to make any soul ache: “Mommy, don’t go anywhere. Please.”

   “I’m,” the woman pauses with a sigh as she stands over poor Robin. “I’m sorry, okay? Just turn around and start counting.” She doesn’t sound sorry, really, Robin thinks.
