“Like this.” The android’s tone is nothing but pure frustration, and so are his vague gestures. “I’m… God, I should be happy, I should be grateful… I should be happy, but I’m not. There’s something wrong with me—there is something deeply and fundamentally wrong with me.”
( Or, Connor is harassed during an investigation and has a breakdown. Luckily, Hank is there for him. )

Eventually Nines would want some sort of indication that Gavin had either enjoyed himself, which he had, or was too confused to manage what was going on, which he was, or regretted everything, which he didn't. And, no matter how many dark jokes Gavin made at Nines about him being plastic or a robot or an object, neither of them thought that it was true and neither of them thought the other thought that it was true so they were going to have to talk about it.
