“I’ll do it.”
Soap blinks. He straightens. “What’s that?”
“I’ll do it,” Ghost repeats. “Go home with you.” He glances at the knife, still spinning smoothly between two fingertips, the sharp tip digging into the thick material of his glove when he pauses. “Spend Christmas pretending to be your boyfriend.”
Soap is struck completely speechless for a moment. He just stares at him. “Huh?”

Summary
John Price has always been seen as some parental figure of his team, whether said or not. He just can't stop himself from taking soldiers in that have shitty and crumbling lives, taking them under his wing. He's made and built a strong and top-tiered task force. He's built a reputation and name for himself. Even if one of those names is 'dad'.
