Summary
Charlie was beginning to regret all of his life choices. No amount of money saving and family respect was worth waking up before 7am. None. His earliest lectures had begun at an easy 9 am and he lived close enough that he had no reason to roll out of bed before eight on those days. Sure, when he was at Truham early mornings were a thing, but it had been a good year since that mattered. He was out of practice. And in serious need of caffeine.
The worst part of being back in Kent wasn’t the early mornings, it was losing every speck of freedom he felt living in London.

Nick and Charlie meet at drop off at Olly’s nursery each morning. Charlie assumes Nick must be a married dad. The boys are drawn to each other as they find similarities, both moving back to Kent sooner than they’d like.
