Claire, in the meantime, had leaned in close to you to whisper, “My brother thinks an enemy of his or Leon’s may be responsible for this. Did you notice anyone following you recently?”
You quickly shook your head, your time mostly spent at school, work, or home, but added, “I wouldn’t know to watch for something like that, to be honest. Someone could have been, I can’t really say.”
She didn’t hold it against you; you were a regular civilian not used to dealing with incidents like this. Although in the future, it’d be best if you were better prepared just in case. She’d seen you throw the guy on top of you off balance, it was clear Leon had given you some defensive training in the past. But it wasn’t nearly enough, if it turned out you were being targeted by their adversaries. Your skills needed to be ramped up, immediately.
