Summary
(This is an epilogue to my fic Muse. You can try to read this as a standalone, but it will make much more sense with the prequel)
Two years have passed since Jayce and Viktor started dating. Art has made its way into both their lives, with Jayce painting more often and Viktor trying to get his manuscript turned into a formal book. Everything is going as well as it can be, and both are ready for the next chapter of their life together.

Four years have passed since Viktor left for Demacia to receive the life-saving surgery he desperately needed, and now he's finally coming home. He knew that leaving would mean change, but even after having all this time to prepare, he doesn't know if he'll be able to acclimate himself to everything that's different -- most importantly, how his relationship with Jayce is different.

“In another life, we might have met here,” Viktor says one night as they lay in their bed. They needed a new mattress, or at least a new material to fill it with. It was lumpy in all the wrong places. “We would have met as kids, fallen in love as teens, and lived our whole lives as tradesmen. We would be happy like that.”
Jayce lies on his side, facing Viktor. “Maybe,” he agrees. “But I wouldn't have it any other way.”
I would, Viktor thinks. I would like to be less broken with you. I would like to give you fewer pieces to help me put back together. I would like it if you had never known pain on my account.
But he stays silent.(In which Viktor wants one normal day with Jayce, but is normal something they can have?)

Summary
Jayce was an artist once. He was young and lively, wooing patrons with his impressive works and making a name for himself under the alias "Giopara." But that was long ago, back when the world was still his. Five years have passed, he's grown older, life has changed, and he refuses to pick up a brush.
Viktor is a writer -- in theory. In practice, he hasn't written a word of his manuscript in years, and not for lack of trying. He's reached a standstill, or a lull if you will. His character, who he has based off himself, will achieve great things, but will he always live in the shadow of his creation?
