It was always the butt of the joke that Miu Iruma would never find her soulmate; forever marked as a succubus that would be tossed person to person (despite the fact she was a naive virgin). Miu tries to take it in stride most of the time, but during a bonfire at the beach she jokingly mocks the idea that it could be Kaede Akamatsu and finds out what a mistake that might be.
Kaede Akamatsu had always held the idea of soulmate to a high standard, but never tried to make it her life goal–she had her piano and her friends to worry about! After all, soulmates would happen when they happen. However, when a bonfire joke from Miu Iruma goes too far, Kaede tells her to take off her gloves and touch her if she was so certain it couldn’t be possible.

Makoto’s move-in day for college is already messing Komaru up, but her luck turns around when, nearly avoiding being run down by a couple of students, she trips and falls into Toko Fukawa, her soulmate.
Toko is already having an awful start to college. Move-in day wasn't picturesque like the brochures made it seem and an attempt to stave off loneliness had her going to a coffee shop on the off chance she'd see her beloved Byakuya Togami. However, before she could even exit the building, a clumsy girl crying over her brother's departure falls into her.

Being in love with your best friend shouldn't have been this complicated, but it was. Being a gay man in a community that detested the mere notion of your existence and having a best friend that shared those feelings, your feelings were something better-kept secret. This was a flawless plan in theory, one that only fell apart when your best friend's other half caught you in a situation you couldn't lie your way out of.
