Summary
In a world not quite like ours, human-bird hybrids called avians have taken over the world. What started as an experiment has ended in a new era. Now, humans have to adjust to the new rulers. 9 years later, Winter Aranza caught the attention of the one avian she hoped she'd never meet.
"Don't walk away from me, Winter." She laughs without humor, throwing up her hands and placing her bag over her shoulder.
"Or what? You'll throw me off the side of the city? You'll use your precious power to force me to love you? Either you're a murderer or a monster, and either way you're a liar." She snaps, stalking off to what she knew to be the bathroom and throwing open the door, closing it loudly behind her.
She turns the lock, staring at the door knob she was still holding onto. Tears brim in her eyes, and her hand drops as she turns around, sliding down the door with a silent sob. Her knees curled up to her chest and her bag lay to the side of her. _Why me?_

Summary
All Marinette wanted to do was buy some dishes and twinkle lights.
Instead, she got wrapped up in an all-out game of hide-and-seek between four of the most well-trained vigilantes in the world. Involving Home Alone-esque traps, crushed forklifts, a surprising amount of shoplifting considering they're the good guys, and the beginnings of an epic bond with a smirking, laser wielding, maniac.
Not that she knew that at the time. All she saw was a cute guy hiding behind a desk, and the rest was history.
