This is a bad idea.
A rational thought slips out as he remembers how it had been when Will went missing on that awful night of November 6th, 1983.
He won't be in the upside-down, though. After all, that stuff had ended 2 years ago.
‘Nothing will ever be as bad as that was.’
The voice slips into a grumbling, distant voice in his head.
‘Besides, it's not like people will miss you as much as they missed Will.’
Mike’s heart pangs. The voice sounded a little too similar to Ted Wheeler’s.
Jesus.
He really does need to leave.

Mike had heard far too many insults to let his parents keep dictating his life. Ted was never going to change, so maybe it's Mike who has to.

Mike Wheeler runs away.
Will Byers isn't going to let him go alone.
