Summary
Ajax is ashamed of his Abyss-changed body. He tells no one, not even his parents. He is a boy, has always been a boy and will one day be a proper man like his father.
But the Abyss will not let him forget. Ever since he had crawled back up from its depths, twice a year, for a few days, his abyssal side takes over. He goes into heat, like a common animal.
After the incident at the Harbor, Childe finds himself adrift, angry and conflicted in a way he is not used to. There’s much left unsaid between him and Zhongli. When Zhongli asks him for a spar in an attempt to fix their relationship, Childe agrees, but when Childe’s heat starts early, things get complicated.
This is a bit of an introspective take on the mating cycle trope. No omegaverse.
