Absolutely outstanding fic - if you're even alright with freezerburn I can wholeheartedly recommend this. Very well-written and it has everything - fluff, angst, plot, "plot" (although there is a sfw version linked in the first chapter if that's more your speed), all on top of heaps of excellent and on-point character beats. I usually don't like being *this* positive in my recs so as not to oversell what I'm recommending but it would be difficult to do so for this one. Makes me wish for that joke ability to comment on specific lines of fics - lots of excellent individual moments.
